Aimee & Olly – A Wild, Foliage-Rich Wedding at Port Lympne Safari Park by Luxury Essex wedding florist

On a windswept October day at Port Lympne Safari Park, Aimee and Olly embraced the drama of the season with a wedding full of grounded elegance and nature-led beauty. Set against the park’s unique backdrop of wild landscapes and historic charm, their celebration was a masterclass in using foliage, texture, and movement to soften space

and evoke emotion.

A Ceremony Rooted in Nature

The ceremony space at Port Lympne came with a design challenge — beams already dressed in faux foliage and flowers that couldn’t be removed. Rather than compete, we embraced it. I created wild, ground-up meadows that appeared to grow naturally from the base of the beams. We wove in fresh foliage to soften and blend the artificial with the real, creating a seamless, living feel that honoured both the space and the season. The palette — soft whites, natural greens, and gentle tones of nude and caramel — brought warmth and balance to the windswept October setting.

A Celebration in the Storm

Rain fell. The wind howled. But far from dampening the mood, the dramatic weather brought a kind of magic — like nature itself was part of the celebration. The grounded, foliage-heavy florals helped anchor the day, creating an intimate and immersive atmosphere that guests will remember long after the clouds cleared.

Throughout the reception, the floral design mirrored the balance Aimee and Olly wanted — refined, but never too polished. Meadow-inspired florals lined key spaces, continuing the story we began at the ceremony. The mix of fresh greenery and seasonal blooms carried through, wrapping the venue in softness and seasonal texture.

Kind Words From Aimee

“Rosie did an amazing job with our wedding flowers! I have worked with Rosie before on weddings and shoots, so I knew she was the right choice for my own wedding. She went above and beyond and made everything look so, so beautiful! We loved everything she created and I had full trust in her to enhance the venue and make it feel special.Communication from start to finish was fabulous — she was always just a call or an email away if I had questions or needed to make changes.I highly recommend Rosie, and I hope we can work together again soon!”

From Challenge to Harmony

Weddings like Aimee & Olly’s remind me that sometimes, the most beautiful designs come from leaning into the unpredictable. Whether it’s the wind, the space, or the texture of the season — floral design at its best works with the environment, not against it. If you’re planning a wedding where wild beauty and emotional presence matter, as a Luxury Essex wedding florist, I’d love to help create something rooted in your story.
